6th Grade Orientation Set for August 5th
Posted 6/14/21

Hello!

We are extremely excited that your child will be attending Pine Hollow Middle School and we look forward to meeting your student during 6th Grade Orientation. As you may know, our school participates in the nationwide WEB Program, an organization whose sole purpose is to help sixth graders feel more comfortable as well as help them achieve success in their first year of middle school.

The WEB 6th Grade Orientation is a student-only event and designed to both welcome and support sixth graders and give them a tour of our campus. Your student will be assigned a 7th or 8th grade WEB Leader as a mentor during their first year. The WEB Leaders are responsible students that were hand selected from a large pool of applicants and have met the qualifications of being good role models and positive leaders in our school.

The following is some information about our planned 6th Grade Orientation:

  1. Depending on county guidelines, your student can expect to receive a phone call in the summer to be invited to attend orientation and a tour on Thursday, August 5th, from 9 am - 11 am.
  2. Your student may be picked up immediately after the tour at 11 am.
  3. Your student is encouraged not to bring backpacks, purses, or other like items to the orientation.
  4. Every student is encouraged to bring water.

We look forward to meeting your student at 6th Grade Orientation! If you have any questions, please contact Ed Perryman (perrymane@mdusd.org).

Sincerely,

Ed Perryman, School Counselor & WEB Program Coordinator
