8th Grade Activities and Promotion

8th GRADE PICNIC

DATE / LOCATION

 DATE TABA (Depart Pine Hollow: 8:30am Arrive back at Pine Hollow: 2:30pm)
 The Ranch at Little Hills (San Ramon, CA)

DETAILS

  • BBQ lunch will be provided by PTSA.
  • The facility has swimming, softball, basketball, soccer, etc. Please visit theranchatlittlehills.com for more details.
  • Students should dress comfortably (adhering to the dress code), and wear athletic tennis shoes.
  • Students should bring an appropriate swimsuit and towel if they want to swim. Students should bring water, snacks, and sunscreen.
  • Students who do not attend the picnic are expected to attend school.

CRITERIA

  • All 8th Grade students are invited to attend the picnic. However, students become ineligible to attend if during April 9 - May 23 they incur any of the following:
    • More than three tardies in any one class.
    • One lunch detention.
    • One support call made by a teacher.
    • A suspension from class or school.

 

8th GRADE DANCE

DATE / LOCATION

 DATE TBA (6:30-9:00pm)
 Pine Hollow Middle School (MUR)

DETAILS

  • Only eligible PHMS 8th grade students may attend. Non-Pine Hollow students may not attend.
  • Students must show dance ticket and Pine Hollow Student ID Card to enter the dance.
  • Students must arrive and enter the facility by 6:30pm. No student will be permitted to leave the facility prior to 9:00pm unless their parent comes to take the student home and checks out with an administrator. Students must be picked up by 9:15pm.
  • Pine Hollow behavioral expectations and dress code must be followed. Consequences for violations could result in loss of privilege to participate in promotion ceremony.

8th GRADE AWARDS CEREMONY

DETAILS

  • Students who are receiving an award will receive an invitation to the ceremony.

CRITERIA

  • Only invited students and family members may attend; all students must be accompanied by adult.                                                         

 

8th GRADE PROMOTION

DATE / LOCATION

 DATE TBA (8:30-10:00am)
 Pine Hollow Middle School (Quad)  

DETAILS

  • There will be one ceremony for all 8th Grade students. The ceremony will begin at 8:30am, and will be held outdoors in the Quad.
  • Students are expected to dress in professional or formal attire.
  • Parents and family members attending the ceremony will need to bring their own chairs - seating for guests will be limited.
  • Please remember that there is limited parking on our campus; carpooling is strongly encouraged.
  • This is a minimum day and all classes will be dismissed at 12:54pm. Students who need to leave campus early must be signed out by their parent/guardian.

CRITERIA

  • In conjunction with MDUSD practice, eligibility criteria for participation in the promotion ceremony requires that students meet the following:
    • Academic Requirements: Students must have passing grades to participate in promotion, or must receive special permission from the Pine Hollow administration/counseling staff to participate if they do not have passing grades
    • Behavioral Requirements: Students with significant behavioral issues during 4th quarter may be prohibited from participating in the promotion ceremony.
